Looking to start betting at Unibet? In this Unibet review, we will look at what the sportsbook has to offer, as well as whether or not it is worth you signing up!
Before we dive deep into our full Unibet review, let’s learn a little bit more about this bookmaker brand and how far they’ve come. Unibet has been around since 1997 in one form or another, and right now, they are under the Kindred Group umbrella. Kindred owns a variety of other sportsbooks and casinos, meaning there’s a good chance you may have come across them before. Unibet tends to be a well-loved brand when it comes to the punters.
What’s more, it seems to be a solid hit with some of the big industry experts and online reviewers. As a company with more than 20 years of experience under its belt, this is a pretty solid recommendation.
The fact is, Unibet is part of an older guard of online betting site, and as they’ve been around longer than most, it’s safe to say that they have had more time to evolve and adapt to new tastes. That’s why you will generally find that Unibet is a one-stop shop for most types of games, betting and casino standards included.
That said, for the purpose of this Unibet review, we're going to just consider their sportsbook. If you'd like to take a look at the casino side of things then please go ahead – but keep reading if you want the full lowdown on their sports betting and the quality of their odds.
Naturally, Unibet offers a pretty attractive deal to new joiners, and we think it competes pretty well with the wider bookmaker scene online. At the time of writing, Unibet offers new punters up to £40 money back should their first bets lose. Alongside this, you can claim £10 to use in the Unibet casino, too.
However, let’s stick with the betting cashback. This insurance deal sounds great, but as always, you’ll need to dig into the small print. You’ll need to make a minimum deposit of at least £10 and wagering requirements will apply to any bonus cash you receive. This means that you will need to play back the cash you receive 3x on odds at a minimum of 1.40. This works out around 2/5. The casino credit is wagered, too, which means you’ll need to play back your bonus 35x.
If you’re not familiar with wagering requirements and terms, don’t worry. These terms tend to apply to casino bonuses, which is why it’s interesting to see Unibet apply these conditions to a sportsbook bonus. However, these terms aren’t that restrictive.
What it all means is that if you want to withdraw money from Unibet at any time, if you have this deal active, you will need to play 3x your bonus money back on the sportsbook first. The casino terms sit at 35x. This may seem like a lot, but there are plenty of casinos which go higher than this.
Beyond this, Unibet offers plenty of great deals and promos for regular punters, meaning if you are looking for regular free bets and odds boosts, you won’t have to search too far. Just make sure you bookmark the promo page here, follow Unibet on social media, and sign up for email lists.
The best time to look for deals and free bets is, naturally, during big sports events. For example, when the Olympic Games or Grand National roll around, take a look at what Unibet has on offer to help entice you into the sportsbook.
It wouldn’t be any kind of Unibet review without a look at some of the banking options available at the site. Unibet accepts payments through a variety of services, through UK debit cards, e-wallets such as Neteller and PayPal, and even prepaid services such as Paysafecard. You can even choose to pay by bank transfer, too, if you prefer.
Withdrawals tend to be pretty swift on the whole, and you can use many of the same banking methods to take cash away. However, do always double check that you can use the same banking option to withdraw as you can to pay in. Otherwise, you’ll be left juggling multiple banking options at once.
Withdrawals can take around 48 hours if you use a service such as Neteller. However, withdrawing to a bank card, or moving via bank transfer, means you might have to wait up to two weeks till you see your cash. In our experience this was much shorter, but it’s just as well that you know of the potential clearance times.
Unibet also offers a fair bit of responsibility when it comes to betting money, particularly as they have a deposit limits section available. This means that you can set up automatic blocks on your account if you are worrying about spending too much. This is a great little feature which should help to keep your money safe.
As one of the oldest names in online sports betting, it’s safe to say that Unibet has the lion’s share of sports and markets. As well as good old football and horse racing, there are scores of other markets to pick from.
You can bet on tennis internationals, snooker tournaments, and even the latest action in the NBA. There’s also a full section for cricket and boxing, and if you prefer to bet on football played to US or Aussie rules, there are odds listing for those, too. One of the best features to Unibet is its streaming section, which allows you to watch action unfolding while you bet. This is something that even a few of Unibet’s rivals don’t have to offer just yet.
Unibet also appeals to some seriously niche betting tastes! Check out markets in surfing, handball, sumo, and chess! There are also sections for TV and Novelty, should you fancy betting on who’s going to win the Eurovision Song Contest. Given how the UK’s been doing for the past 24 years, we’re probably going to be a fair way down Unibet’s pecking order!
The site is on the whole designed really well. As stated at the start of our Unibet review, the brand has had more time than most to get things in order. This is a speedy, fluid, and intuitive sportsbook. It’s likely that newer brands such as SportNation are looking at Unibet for inspiration, and we really don’t see why not. The site works well across the desktop mode and the mobile sportsbook. Take a look and see for yourself.
If you need help from Unibet at any time, it’s pretty easy to track down a member of the customer care team. The help centre at Unibet is already crammed full of great resources and answers to various questions, meaning it’s probably worth searching for an answer or two in the FAQs before you start contacting a member of staff. There’s also a great forum here, too, which means you can ask questions of the Unibet Player Community if you have a really pressing concern.
Unfortunately, Unibet does seem to hide their contact details deep within the site, seemingly preferring you to self-diagnose if you can. That’s no bad thing, but we would definitely prefer the site to be a little more upfront on ways in which we can get in touch with them!
Live chat is available 24 hours a day at Unibet if you can’t find the answers to your questions via the Player Community. There’s also an email address you can connect with, too. Simply send a message to info@unibetsupport.com.
As always, you will likely need to wait a little while to get a response to a detailed email, so if you have a pressing concern, make sure to contact the team through the live chat first.
We like Unibet a lot – it’s clear why the brand is still making waves. There are bookies that have been around for just as long as Unibet that don’t offer their level of care or their quantity of markets. On the whole, we found the quality of the odds they offer to be pretty reliable, too. As always, if you’re going to get into that big opening deal, make sure you read up on the small print!
Unibet is a great sportsbook provider which does still have room to grow. We recommend anyone looking for a streaming platform as well as an odds directory to take a closer look, especially if you have niche betting interests. There are more than a few things to keep you interested. Closing out our Unibet review, do see how you get on with the bingo, poker, and casino sides to the site, too. You can mix things up a little if you want and given that you get £10 credit along with that money back on your bet, it’s safe to say Unibet wants you to take a look around.
