Wednesday Selections – 11/01/17
3:20 - Tutchec last won in January 2014 and is now 40lb lower than for that win. There is a reason why his mark has plummeted so much the horse has seemed to totally lost his way. Has subsequently moved from the Nicky Richards stable, to Chris Grant and is now with Henry Whittington. Three runs for his present trainer and last time at Southwell and there was glimmer of hope that he might have turned a corner when a 11 length 5th 31 days ago. Gets his favoured rain softened ground, no issues with today's trip and has won right handed. Risks attached but he is on a very tempting mark and a much better showing wouldn't surprise. Has each way claims in the first time cheekpieces. A more solid form choice would be You Too Pet. Who was a good 2nd at Taunton on his last start in November. Might well have won if he hadn't have jumped slowly at some crucial points in the race. if he can jump a bit better today then he is a major player. The rain softened ground shouldn't be a problem won on the going in the point field and they way he finished at Taunton suggests he the extra three furlongs he has to travel today will be very much in his favour. Has only had three starts over fences under rules, has won a handful of point to points, and could be capable of a bit more progress in the sphere even at the age of 9. Looks set to be competitive off his unchanged handicap mark.
