Friday Selections – 13/01/2017

Hi all,

Will be interesting to see if turf tracing takes places today in the UK with snow and ice affecting most of the country. The Saturday cards at Kempton and Warwick must also be in danger of cancellation even at this early stage. Which is a shame as there is some good racing due for tomorrow.

Its off to Wolverhampton today for just the one selection:

FRIDAY SELECTIONS

WOLVERHAMPTON

7:15 – Captain Dion – The four year old ran well at Newcastle on his first start on the tapeta and had won on his previous run at Chelmsford, making all on that occasion. Not easy to force the pace at Newcastle on the straight 6f and the selection should appreciate this track better. Trainer Kevin Ryan opts for the first time cheekpieces, he is 7 wins from 32 runners 22% with horses racing having their first run in such headgear and he also has his horses running well being – 3 wins from 13 runner 23% +1 in the past 14 days. Can go well if he gets an uncontested lead although the Dean Ivory trained favourite will be tough to beat under his 6lb penalty.

Captain Dior – 1pt win – 9/2 @ William Hill & Coral

All BOG unless stated

Staked - 1pt

Thanks
